BLUSTERY, MOSTLY CLOUDY CONDITIONS TO FINISH OCTOBER….

Yesterday’s nearly all day drizzle and overnight rain netted
us 0.78 inches, bringing our monthly total to an impressive
6.49″ for the month. The month of October has shaped up to
be mild and wetter than average, with +1.5 degrees above
normal and +1.18 inches above normal.

Today has remained dry fortunately, and we have remained
under mostly cloudy conditions throughout the day.

Our high temperature of the day so far occurred during the
overnight as the front pushed through the region. Since then,
temperatures have not fluctuated too much, ranging from 57F to
52F. Dew points have hovered in the upper 40s and low 50s as
the rain moved out of the area.

The wind has been the star of the show today. Winds steadily
increased from yesterday afternoon through this afternoon and
have no inclinations of slowing down just yet. Winds overnight
were out of the east and have shifted to a west-southwesterly
flow by this afternoon. The average speed for the day so far is
around 18mph. The peak gust for the day so far is 50mph, which
occurred at 12:21am this morning.

Visibility fluctuated between 60-70 miles throughout the day.

The maximum temperature so far today is 58F degrees, which is
2 degrees above the normal high of 56F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 52F degrees, which is 13 degrees above the
normal low of 39F.
