BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY
MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA
FRIDAY OCTOBER 3, 2025
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME (EST)
SUNRISE: 0544E
SUNSET: 1722E
BRILLIANT SUNSHINE, HIGH AND DRY WITH WARMING TEMPERATURES….
Today we have had plenty of blue sky with the exception of some
scattered cirrus clouds since mid morning. Compared to yesterday,
the chill in the air isn’t as obvious, as warmer, moist air from
the west-southwest has moved into the area. It seems as if the
pause button has been pushed on fall, with temperatures and dew
points rising yet again.
Temperatures have warmed quite a bit today, putting us slightly
above average for this time of year. The overnight low was 46F so
the day started off cool, but quickly warmed as we had all day
sunshine. Temperatures made it past the 70F mark as of the 1pm
observation. Dew points have also risen, starting from the upper
40s to 50F by 1pm today.
The wind continues to trend light, with a prominent west-southwest
flow. The average speed for the day so far is around 10mph. The
peak gust so far today is 23mph, which occurred just after the
final observation at 1:17pm.
Visibility has been impacted by the rising dew points and have
held steady around 50 miles throughout the day.
The maximum temperature so far today is 72F degrees, which is
6 degrees above the normal high of 66F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 46F degrees, which is 3 degrees below the
normal low of 49F.
