MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2, 2020
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME

COOL AND OVERCAST HERE ATOP GREAT BLUE HILL…

A fairly nondescript day here on the hill. Mostly cloudy
skies quickly became the theme this morning- eventually
turning to overcast by early afternoon with virga approaching
from the west. No precipitation here thus far. Winds
have been generally tame out of the west only topping
out so far at 20 MPH. Temperatures slowly rose to
the low-60s mid-morning before slipping to the upper-50s
thereafter. Dew points began in the mid-50s, but have now
settled into the upper-40s.

The drought monitor was updated yesterday revealing yet
another escalation. 55% of MA now in a “severe drought”
and 29% considered in an “extreme drought” (approximately
Boston to Providence and points south and east).

The high so far today is 63F, 2 degrees below the daily
normal max of 65F. The low since midnight is 56F, which
is 8 degrees above the normal low of 48F.
