CLOUDY, CHILLY, AND DAMP WITH A BIT OF LIGHT RAIN TODAY….
What a difference a day makes! After a pleasant holiday yesterday,
today the tables have turned with overcast skies, periods of light
rain, and considerably chillier temperatures.
Rainfall hasn’t really amounted to much at all with only 0.07″ being
measured for the entire event so far. 0.01″ of which fell upto 7 A.M.,
and the rest coming in the 6 hours ending at 1 P.M.
One thing we can be thankful for, the wind has been quite light today.
With the chilly damp air, any wind would make it feel quite unpleasant.
Wind speeds have averaged around 9mph for the day so far, with a peak
gust of only 18mph. However winds are expected to increase markedly
this evening once the front moves through and strong cold air advection
takes over.
Visibility has been limited all day due to rain and thin fog. We were
only able to see 10-12 miles all morning, but has since improved to
around 20 miles early this afternoon.
The high so far today is 43F, 3 degrees below the normal max of 46F.
The low since midnight is 39F, 9 degrees above the normal low of 30F.
