DRY STREAK ENDS – DREARY, WET, AND WINDY ATOP THE HILL…
Clouds associated with an approaching low spilled into
the region overnight. A colorful sunrise was witnessed, but
faded quickly to a thickening cloud deck. The morning
was primarily dry, but featured escalating winds. Winds
speeds are now averaging 21 MPH with a peak gust clocking
in at 54 MPH from the SSE!
As we approached early afternoon, heavy rains scooted in.
Thus, today concludes the 11-day dry streak. In fact, this is
the longest consecutive period without any measurable or
even a trace of precipitation this year! It was certainly
a welcomed experience following several wet months.
Coinciding with the return of rain is the return of muggy
dew points. So far today we have observed dew points
in the upper-50s! Rain is expected to exit around dinner
time along with falling temperatures and dew points.
The high so far today is 59F, 8 degrees above the normal max of
51F. The low since midnight is 46F, 11 degrees above the normal
low of 35F.
