ARCTIC COLD FRONT BRINGS GUSTY NW WINDS,
TEMPS EXPECTED TO PLUMMET WITH ITS PASSAGE
Winds began to increase late this morning with the passage of a cold
front and continued to gust above 25 knots through the early afternoon.
The peak gust by 1:00PM EST was 32 kts (37 MPH) WNW at 12:53 PM.
Temperatures rose to 59F by the last observation and had not yet begun to
drop from the arrival of arctic air behind the front. Visibility had
improved to 70 miles by late morning. Clear morning skies turned partly
cloudy with scattered cumulus as the cold front passed.
