BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY
MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA

FRIDAY, MAY 24, 2024
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME (EST)

SUNSET:  1908E

A BEAUTIFUL START TO THE WEEKEND TODAY ON BLUE HILL WITH BRILLIANT
SUNSHINE AND GUSTY CONDITIONS….

There was some patchy fog in the area early this morning which
cleared out before the first observation. Clear skies dominated
the day with the exception of some cumulus and cirrus moving
through. The temperatures quickly heated above normal values, as
we were above the normal high by 8am EST.

Although temperatures were well above normal today, the air was
dry so humidity was overall low and comfortable. Yesterday’s rain
brought us to 0.89 inches above normal for the month.

The wind was pretty steady throughout the day but picked up
quite a bit in the past couple hours. So far the average is about
11 mph with a peak gust so far around 36 mph that occurred just
after the 1pm observation. Winds were mostly from the West and WSW.

Visibility started off quite nice with an impressive 60 mile
view but reduced as the day went on due to hazy conditions
caused by pollen.

The maximum temperature so far today is 82F degrees, which is
13 degrees above the normal high of 69F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 59F degrees, which is 8 degrees above the
normal low of 51F.
