MORNING CLOUDS BURN OFF LEADING TO PLENTY OF SUNSHINE AND MILD
TEMPERATURES….
We had a lot of cloud cover around early this morning with various
layers of stratocumulus and even some stratocumulus lenticularis.
These clouds however burned off nicely by the mid morning hours with
plenty of sunshine being the theme through early this afternoon.
Temperatures have warmed into the lower 50s early this afternoon
which is above seasonal levels for this date. All in all its a
rather nice day out there considering it’s mid March. Dew point
readings have risen from the low 30s to the upper 30s during the
course of the day with a very light flow off the ocean.
Winds have been on the light side today with a light onshore flow
only averaging around 6mph for the day so far. The highest gust so
far today has only been 14mph, the lowest peak gust of the month
so far!
Visibility has been limited all day to around 20-35 miles, first
due to thin fog early this morning, and then just general haziness
thereafter. Both of which are due to the high moisture content of
the air (relative humidity levels above 60% for the day so far).
The maximum temperature for today is 51F degrees, which is 8 degrees
above the normal high of 43F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 33F degrees, which is 7 degrees above the normal low of 26F.
