LOW CLOUDS BREAK TO SOME SUNSHINE, AFTERNOON SHOWERS….

We began the morning in the clouds, with dense fog and a visibility
of around 1/8 of a mile. The cloud base lifted following sunrise,
and the overcast broke shortly thereafter. Since then, some rain
showers have popped up nearby. One moved over the hill beginning right
before the last observation, with only 0.01″ of rainfall measured by 1pm.

The temperatures today began right around 60F, rising slowly at first
and more rapidly once the overcast broke. We have since made it to the
low 80s by early afternoon, though temperatures have fallen into the low
70s as the rain shower began. The dew point has remained nearly steady
in the mid 60s.

The winds have been quite light, going calm for a time late
morning to early afternoon. The average speed to this point is only
5mph. The peak gust, taking place around 6am, is approximately 15mph.

Visibility has improved as the day has gone on, rising from 30 miles
at the 7am observation to 50 miles by the afternoon. Some virga from
the oncoming rain showers reduced visibility to the S-SW to 2 miles
at 1pm.

The maximum temperature so far today is 80F degrees, which is
7 degrees above the normal high of 73F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 60F degrees, which is 5 degrees above the
normal low of 55F.
