DAY 4 OF THE HEAT WAVE IS A SLIGHT RELIEF CONSIDERING
LOWER HUMIDITY….
We observed limited visibility on this hot summer’s day,
with only 35 miles being seen due to hazy conditions. Weather
conditions are hot yet somehow comfortable with dew points
diving into the low 60’s as temperatures climb into the mid 90’s.
We have a cool-feeling southerly breeze at about 15 mph, with a
max gust so far today of 20 mph. Is this what they call “dry heat”?
The yearly rain deficit is now almost -8.50 inches! Most
communities adjacent and north of Boston are under severe
drought status!
There is a heat advisory out for most of the Boston area,
as this heat still does not provide the safest conditions
for many outdoor activities.
The high so far today is 94F, which is 12 degrees above the
normal maximum of 82F. The record for this calendar date is
99F, set in 1926 and 2011. The low since midnight is 72F, which
is 8 degrees above the normal minimum of 64F.
