HUMIDITY FINALLY MOVES OUT, SUNSHINE AND LOWER TEMPS REMAIN
ON BLUE HILL TODAY….

After a very muggy and uncomfortable week, the dew points have
fallen to the upper 50’s making the outdoors fun and safe to
be out again! The skies have been mostly clear today with an
increasing cumulus coverage by the final observation. Plenty
of sunshine and low humidity has made it a beautiful day for
anything outside.

Temperatures were below 70F this morning and warmed to the upper
70’s by the afternoon. We have not yet reached the normal of
82F yet, but it’s still possible with plenty of sunshine left
in the day. The low temperature was even slightly below average
which is a pleasant welcome after the heat we have endured this
week.

The wind has been fairly light with an average of just under
9 mph. Winds have been mostly from the NNW-NW, bringing the
cooler air to our region. By this afternoon the winds have
dropped even lower and became variable but still out of the
NW and WNW directions. The peak gust for the day so far is
24 mph and occurred just before 2am.

Visibility has been splendid with 60 mile views for the day.
The last date we had visibility above 50 miles was back on the
7th of July! With the dry air and lack of hazy conditions we
should continue to have good visibility.

The maximum temperature so far today is 79F, which is 3 degrees
below the normal high of 82F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 61F, which is 3 degrees below the normal low of 64F.
