FOGGY MORNING, MOSTLY OVERCAST CONDITIONS AND MUGGY TODAY….

As anticipated, we have shattered the record for July 10th in
total rainfall for the day. The record of 1.95 inches set in 2015
was overshadowed by +1.9 inches with a grand total of 3.85 inches
for the day. This not only beat out for the day, stands as the 3rd
highest July calendar day rainfall total on record.

According to our chief scientist Mike Iacono, here are the current
rankings:

BHO Highest July Calendar Day Rainfall, inches (1885-2025):

1) 4.46 on 1 July 1915
2) 4.01 on 27 July 1979
3) 3.85 on 10 July 2025
4) 3.74 on 9 July 1921
5) 3.54 on 13 July 1996
6) 3.32 on 28 July 1911
7) 3.14 on 13 July 1898
8) 3.02 on 9 July 2021

Thankfully, we have remained dry today, but have had mostly overcast
conditions. There has been little clearing in sky coverage, though it
has warmed considerably as the day progressed.

While the temperatures are still below normal values, the higher
dew point and lack of air has made it feel a bit uncomfortable out
there today. Temperatures have climbed to the upper 70’s and dew
points have been in the upper 60’s to 70F by 1pm.

The wind has been calm to light and variable for most of the day.
Wind directions have been out of the east-southeast for early
morning to out of the southwest this afternoon. The average speed
for the day so far is only around 3mph. The peak gust for the day
so far is around 12mph, which occurred just after 1:30pm.

Visibility was heavily limited by foggy conditions this morning
and slowly improved, with some sightings of the sun during the
late morning. We had started at about 1/8 mile of visibility in
the early morning and improved to around 30 miles by the afternoon.

The maximum temperature so far today is 79F degrees, which is
3 degrees below the normal high of 82F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 61F degrees, which is 3 degrees below the normal
low of 64F.
