HOT AND DRY WITH A WARM SOUTHWESTERLY BREEZE….
Visibility was limited due to haze today, only reaching
25 miles. Skies were mostly cloudy with scattered cumulus
popping up around noontime. Wind was southwesterly with
15 mph speeds and a max gust of almost 30 mph.
Conditions are thankfully drier than expected, with dew
points staying in the low 60’s!
Rain totals continue to be an issue as the monthly departure
is -1.82 inches. The annual total is -6.84 inches from normal.
The updated drought monitor is showing most of the state in
the “Moderate Drought” category. Trees and flowers on the
summit are showing definite distress.
