MORNING SUNSHINE FOLLOWED BY INCREASING CLOUDS AND AFTERNOON
BREEZY CONDITIONS….
Today we started with plenty of sunshine with scattered clouds
and thin fog. The fog lifted by mid morning and increasing
clouds moved into the area as a warm front slowly approached.
Temperatures have remained mild today, with our overnight low a
whopping 13 degrees above normal. Temperatures steadied at 32F
this morning and have risen to the mid 40’s by afternoon. The
dew points have also increased, starting from 32F to the low 40’s
by the early afternoon.
The wind shifted to a southerly direction during the early morning
hours and for much of the observation period have been out of the
south-southwest. The average so far is around 10mph, though we
have had some frequent gusts of 20-25mph which started after 10:30am.
The peak gust for the day so far is 37mph, which occurred just
before 12:30pm this afternoon.
Visibility was impacted by fog and a smoke layer this morning, but
has marginally improved, from 30 miles this morning to around 40
miles by early afternoon.
The maximum temperature so far today is 43F degrees, which is
8 degrees above the normal high of 35F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 32F degrees, which is 13 degrees above the
normal low of 19F.
