BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY
MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA

DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY
FRIDAY, JANUARY 3, 2020
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME

OVERCAST, BUT CONTINUED MILD TEMPERATURES….

Overcast skies has been the theme today with no sunshine
to speak of thus far. Despite the cloud cover, temperatures
are rather mild reaching into the mid 40s. As a matter of
fact it never really cooled that much last night with the
overnight low of 40 degrees.

Wind has been quite light today, but generally out of a
southwesterly direction.

Visibility has been limited thanks in part to an inversion
that’s been in place all day. A thin smoke layer has been
observed all day thus far as well.

The low since midnight is 40F, 22 degrees above the normal
low of 18F. The high so far today is 46F, 11 degrees above
the daily normal maximum of 35F.
