FRIDAY, JANUARY 24, 2025

NEARING SEASONABLE TEMPERATURES TODAY WITH PLENTY OF SUNSHINE
Friday started with a pastel purple and pinkish hued sunrise and
has featured mostly clear skies for much of the day. Clouds were
seen offshore for much of the day and by late morning had moved
out of sight. This afternoon we had a slight increase in some
closer stratocumulus clouds in our sky, but sunshine and blue skies
have been the theme today.
Temperatures have still been below normal, but closer to seasonable
since the arctic air mass has finally moved from our region. We are
just a few degrees below normal which is quite an improvement from
the double digit departures we were dealing with earlier this week.
The dew points have also recovered a bit, ranging from 8F to 14F
today. We are still impacted by dry air overall, but not as frigid!
Winds have been steady and on the lighter side today. Windflow was
from the WNW this morning and have shifted slightly to the NW by mid
morning. The average speed so far is around 11mph and the peak gust
occurred at 12:12am this morning at 21mph.
Hazy conditions have persisted throughout the day, leaving us with
only about 30 miles of visibility.
The maximum temperature for today is 32F degrees, which is 2 degrees
below the normal high of 34F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 14F degrees, which is 3 degrees below the normal low of 17F.
