ABUNDANT SUNSHINE TODAY WITH NEAR NORMAL TEMPERATURES…
The skies have generally been mostly clear with the exception
of some distant clouds out near the horizon. As the temperatures
warmed through the late morning to early afternoon, more cirrus
clouds filled in the sky.
Temperatures overnight were in the mid 20’s and by our first
observation we were only 1 degree from yesterday’s high. We have
slowly warmed to near normal temperatures which is a bit of a
reprieve from the bitter cold from the past couple of days. The
dew point values have also increased quite a bit but are still
relatively comfortable, holding in the upper 20’s.
The wind has continued to remain light, with some brief periods of
calm conditions throughout the late morning hours. The average speed
so far has been around 7 mph with the current gust around 15 mph,
which occurred shortly after midnight.
Visibility has been limited to general haziness throughout the day,
giving us about a 40 mile overall viewing. By late morning and early
afternoon a thin smoke layer continued to impact the visibility.
The maximum temperature so far today is 40F degrees, which is 2 degrees
below the normal high of 42F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 24F degrees, which is 3 degrees below the normal low of 27F.
