PLENTY OF SUNSHINE, COLD, AND BLUSTERY THIS AFTERNOON….
Today started with some broken altocumulus clouds. As the high
pressure system to our west settled over the region, clouds
overhead moved out with the exception of some distant altocumulus
leaving us with a crisp blue sky for much of the day.
This has been another day where we have struggled to reach above
freezing. As of the 1pm observation we have still yet to make
it. The dew points have continued to drop into the single digits
making for some very dry (and cold) air.
The wind was light early this morning, but has picked up in the
past couple of hours. Our average wind speed so far is about 11mph
with predominantly WNW flow. Our current peak gust of 30mph
occurred just after 12pm this afternoon.
Thanks to the low dew points, visibility has been in the 50-60
mile range throughout the day today.
The maximum temperature for today is 31F degrees, which is 10
degrees below the normal high of 41F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 24F degrees, which is 2 degrees below the
normal low of 26F.
