SUNSHINE WITH PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES AND LIGHT WIND TODAY….
This morning started with mostly clear skies and a bit of
chill to the air, as we had an overnight low of 61F. As the
day heated up, high level clouds moved into the area but we
remained dry with partly cloudy skies throughout the late
morning and early afternoon. With the dry air and low humidity
it feels very comfortable for outdoor activities or just
simply soaking in a rare cool August day.
Temperatures have remained seasonable, with readings in the
70s to low 80s by afternoon. Dew points also remain low, giving
us another day with comfortable air to enjoy. Dew point values
have ranged from the upper 40s to low 50s for much of the day.
The wind has been light today, with flow coming from the west
early this morning to a more southerly flow by afternoon. The
average speed for the day so far is only around 7mph. The peak
gust so far for the day is 14mph, which occurred just before
2am this morning.
Despite the dry air and crisp, blue sky, we have only managed
between 30-40 miles of visibility throughout the day.
The maximum temperature so far today is 82F degrees, which is
1 degree above the normal high of 81F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 61F degrees, which is 3 degrees below the
normal low of 64F.
