BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY
MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA

FRIDAY, AUGUST 7, 2020
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME

A FAIRLY QUIET DAY – MOSTLY CLOUDY SKIES AND
A FEW SPRINKLES ATOP GREAT BLUE HILL…

Not a whole lot to write home about today as we close
out the first full workweek of August. Skies have
been predominantly cloudy for the duration of the
day occasionally ejecting a sprinkle here and there,
but no measurable precipitation. The ceiling has
been comprised primarily of mid-and high-altitude
clouds so visibility has not been too poor- ranging
anywhere from 40 miles to 65 miles.

A bit of a break in the heat today as temperatures
bottomed out in the upper-60s early this morning,
and only mustering 79 degrees by 1PM. We will
likely dial up the heat (and humidity) yet again
by the time Sunday rolls in, so enjoy these more
manageable temperatures and dew points for another
few days. Winds continue to be rather gentle with
a peak gust of 14 MPH thus far.

The high so far today is 79F, which is 2 degrees
below the daily normal high of 81F. The low since
midnight is 68F, which is 5 degrees above the
daily normal low of 63F.
