A SOGGY START TO THE WEEKEND WITH LOW VISIBILITY, COOL
TEMPERATURES, AND WINDY CONDITIONS ON THE HILL TODAY…
Today has been windy, rainy, and much cooler than normal. We
have received over an inch of rain in the last 24 hours which
has made for very soggy conditions on the hill. Rain was
heaviest this morning and tapered off to a light drizzle by
early afternoon. Fog has remained in the area all day as well,
adding to the feel of a damp, cool, raw kind of day.
The wind has been productive today with an average so far of
18 mph, which is impressive considering that was close to our
peak gusts earlier this week. The peak gust so far occurred
just after noon at around 36 mph.
We have experienced foggy conditions throughout the day as
earlier stated, with visibility less than a mile for most of the
morning. We had some clearing once the heaviest rain moved out
and “improved” to 8 miles of visibility at our final observation
this afternoon.
The maximum temperature so far today has been 67F, which is
12 degrees below the normal high of 79F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 58F, which is 4 degrees below the normal low
of 62F.
