WARMING UP AS WE MOVE INTO THE WEEKEND….

Today was partly cloudy at most with an average visibility of 65
miles. Conditions are warmer, but still dry with dew points dropping
into the low 50’s. The weather feels comfortable, and was again slightly
chilly in the morning hours.

Wind is lighter in comparison to yesterday with an average speed of 10 mph
and some gusts above 20 mph.

Most of the Boston Area remains under extreme drought conditions
according to the National Drought Monitor. Total rain deficit on the
year is 11.42 inches below normal. The trees and plants up here are
showing definite signs of distress, with the trees releasing leaves
early and flowers withering. There is a Fire Weather Advisory for the
area at this time as conditions are very dry.

Speaking of, a small brush fire was noted to the WNW in the Nobscot Hill
area at the 1 P.M. observation!

The high so far today is 90F, which is 10 degrees above the normal
maximum of 80F. The low since midnight is 62F, which is a degree
below the normal minimum of 63F.
