HIGH PRESSURE CRESTS OVER THE REGION,
BLUE SKIES AND DRY CONDITIONS CONTINUE

Sea level pressure at this morning’s 7:00 AM EST observation
rose to 30.16 inches, as the center of high pressure has
slowly made its way across New England. This reading is the
highest pressure reading so far for the month of August,
and has allowed for mostly clear and dry conditions since
earlier this week. Precipitation for the month of August
is at nearly 1 inch below normal so far, along with an annual
departure of 4.58 inches below normal through yesterday.

Clear conditions have been visible all morning into this
afternoon. By the 1:00 PM EST observation only a few small
cumulus in all directions with some cirrus barely visible
offshore. Light distant haze had reduced visibility down
to 65 miles, with a maximum temperature of 85F recorded
so far.
