A MUCH MILDER AND DRY DAY TODAY….
We were under overcast skies for much of the morning. Despite
the cloudy conditions, temperatures drastically warmed from an
already warm overnight. Temperatures continued to steadily
increase when the anticipated clearing occurred, bringing a very
warm spring day to Blue Hill.
The 7am temperature was already well above our normal maximum for
the day, and at 1pm we were sitting at 68F, which is an impressive
17F degrees above average. Although it’s much warmer than normal,
the record is 76F, which was set back in 2010.
Winds last night into the overnight were out of the southwest but
have since transitioned into a more northwesterly flow. Winds have
been mostly steady, with an average speed for the day so far at around
12mph. The peak gust for the day so far is 31mph, which occurred just
before the final 1pm observation.
Visibility has been pretty decent with around 60 miles throughout
the day.
The maximum temperature for today is 68F degrees, which is 17 degrees
above the normal high of 51F. The minimum temperature since midnight
is 58F degrees, which is 25 degrees above the normal low of 33F.
