WINDY, CHILLY AS SUN FADES BEHIND AFTERNOON CLOUDS…
Brilliant sunshine greeted us here at sunrise, albeit it was
rather chilly for this time of year – we saw the mercury dip
to 35F (normal is 43F)! With an area of low pressure continuing
its spin over Nova Scotia, our below average temperatures and
brisk winds continue once again today. A spoke of mid and high
level clouds associated with that low is pinwheeling from north
to south, so decorative clouds have filtered into the frame
this afternoon.
Dew points began in the mid-teens and have since risen to the low-
20s. Temps are in the mid-50s, thus leading to low relative humidity
values. Add in a stiff NNW wind averaging 15 MPH with occasional gusts
over 30 MPH, and there is an increased fire danger today.
On the plus side, visibility is an astounding 80 miles!
The high so far today is 55F, which is 7 degrees below the
normal maximum of 62F. The low since midnight is 35F, which
is 8 degrees lower than the normal minimum of 43F.
