PARTLY CLOUDY SKIES WITH LIGHT WIND TODAY….

Today we have seen more normal temperatures after yesterday’s
brief cooling. Our 7am observation was almost equal to the
high temperature for yesterday! We had started with overcast
skies and a period of clearing before more clouds moved back
into the region early this afternoon.

Temperatures rebounded nicely from yesterday, with temperatures
in the mid 40’s that increased to the upper 50’s by the afternoon.
Dew points remained in the upper 30’s for most of the day, so the
air felt dry and not as raw as yesterday.

The wind has barely been a presence today, with a slight breeze
that shifted from a general NE flow during the early morning hours
to a SSE flow during the day. The wind has slowly picked up in the
past couple of hours. Our average speed so far has only been around
7 mph. The current peak gust so far was around 22 mph and occurred
just before 1pm.

Visibility has hovered around 50-60 miles for most of the day. The
mid-morning clearing and lower humidity yielded better visibility
though it remained about the same all day.

The maximum temperature so far today is 59F degrees, which is
1 degree above the normal high of 58F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 41F degrees, which is 2 degrees above the
normal low of 39F.
