A SPLENDID SPRING DAY ATOP GREAT BLUE HILL…

Once again, we were greeted this morning with some overnight
rainfall. Not much was dropped thanks to weakening thunderstorms
on approach. The gauge saw 0.16″ bringing the monthly and yearly
totals to 1.30″ and 14.61″ respectively. Still about 2″ below normal
on the year thus far.

Following the rain, a clearing line quickly advanced eastward during
the 7a observation, and has since been mostly sunny ever since! Temperatures
have responded nicely notching the mid-60s by early afternoon. Visibility
is excellent at 80 miles due to exceptionally dry air (RH @ 20%!). Winds
have picked up from the WNW since morning – now averaging 11 MPH. Not
a bad day for the Red Sox home opener!

The high so far today is 64F, which is 8 degrees above the
normal maximum of 56F. The low since midnight is 43F, which
is 5 degrees above the normal minimum of 38F.
