MILD AND WET TODAY WITH PERIODS OF HEAVY RAIN AND STRONG WINDS….

It’s been a rather stormy day today with showers and strong gusty
winds the theme. The heaviest of the rain showers pushed through
this morning with over 1″ of water falling within an 8 hour
period between 2am-10am. Showers have tapered to drizzle as we
reached the late morning hours, but light rain showers have once
again commenced between 12-1pm.

Temperatures have been mild with readings rising to the upper
50s overnight, and holding there through the day so far. The dew
point has matched the air temperature as well, so it actually
feels humid out there today. As a matter of fact, the low
temperature for the day thus far is 55F. This is 1 degree shy
of tying the record high minimum for the date, which is 56F
set just last year!

The wind has been the other story of the day with frequent gusts
of 50-60mph occurring for a few hours this morning. The peak
gust through 1pm is 62mph which occurred just before 7:30am. The
average speed for the day so far is around 27mph, generally out
of the south to south-southeast.

Visibility has of course been limited today due to showers and
fog. The view has been generally 12 miles or less throughout
the day to this point.

The maximum temperature so far today is 60F degrees, which is 5
degrees above the normal high of 55F. The minimum temperature since
midnight is 55F degrees, which is 18 degrees above the normal low
of 37F.
