SUNSHINE WITH SOME CLOUDS, MUCH COOLER WITH A BRISK ONSHORE WIND….

A thunderstorm rolled through the area last evening along
what appears to have been a backdoor cold front. 0.68″ of rain
was measured from this storm, the first rainfall of any kind
(including a trace) since the 1st of the month! A much cooler
and a bit less humid air mass has taken over giving us a rather
pleasant day out there today. Varying amounts of cloud cover
passed over the area during the morning hours, but have since
mostly moved out leaving us with plenty of sunshine early this
afternoon.

Temperatures have only reached the mid 70s by early this
afternoon, which is a welcomed change from the upper 80s and
90s we experienced earlier in the week. Dew point values are
a solid 10F degree lower than yesterday as well, which makes
the air feel more refreshing despite values still being in the
low 60s.

The wind has been rather busy today out of mainly a
northeasterly direction. The average speed for the day so far
is around 12mph. Gusts have been frequently exceeding 20mph,
with a peak gust thus far of 29mph, which occurred just before
9:30am this morning.

Visibility has been somewhat limited today due to haziness. The
view has been generally in the 30-40 miles range all day.

The maximum temperature so far today is 75F degrees, which is
6 degrees below the normal high of 81F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 65F degrees, which is 2 degrees above the
normal low of 63F.
