SNOW TRANSITIONS TO RAIN EARLY THIS MORNING, THICK FOG
AND INCREASING WINDS COME ONSHORE WITH STRENGTHENING
NOR’EASTER

Yesterday’s maximum of just 25F was recored at midnight
this morning, with a daily average temperature of 21F
for all of Monday, -13 degrees below the norm. Light,
continuous snow showers left a coating of snow by late
afternoon on Monday, but this quickly melted once temperatures
climbed above freezing by 2:00 AM EST this morning.

With a Flood Watch in effect, today’s daily precipitation
record of 1.52 inches, set back in 1956, may be broken
depending on rain totals by midnight tonight. By the 1:00
PM EST observation 1.32 inches of rain had fallen so far
for this storm event, with winds gusting to a maximum
of 46 MPH from the NE at 1:15 PM EST.
