DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY
TUESDAY, APRIL 1, 2014
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME

3.97 INCHES OF LIQUID IS THE OFFICIAL STORM TOTAL
WITH MARCH FINISHING SOME 4 DEGREES COLDER THAN
THE 30 YEAR NORMAL

After beginning Saturday afternoon, precipitation lasted
through yesterday evening, totaling 3.97 inches of liquid
and 0.4 inches of snow and ice pellets. While this three
day event did bring significant precipitation, the month
will still end with a deficit for rainfall, and especially
snow. For a complete summary of the month of March, please
stay tuned for those numbers in the coming days.

By 7:00 AM EST this morning clouds were largely found only
offshore with very clear conditions and 80 miles of visibility
in most directions. Riding a NNE wind however, clouds did
filter back in from the coast temporarily during the morning.

By 1:00 PM EST skies were completely clear overhead with
only a few stratocumulus remaining in most directions
and cirrostratus distant on the horizon from S-WNW. A
maximum of 47F had also been recorded by that time.
