ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME
COOL DAY WITH DROPPING HUMIDITY AFTER AN INTENSE WEATHER DAY….
This morning, 1.32 inches of rain was measured in our standard
weighing gage after a few intense thunderstorms yesterday afternoon.
Lightning struck close by, so a few of our automated systems and
wind recorders had malfunctions; additionally, the power went out,
and we have been running on generator power for the duration of the
day. Our high temperature yesterday was 90F, and dropped quickly to 70F
following yesterday’s storms in only a 2 hour period, averaging a 10
degree drop per hour during this time. Overnight, temperatures stayed
around 72F, dropping this morning to 61F with northeasterly winds at
around 9 AM. Since then, the temperature has been rising, and as of
1 PM it is 65F.
