Rain this morning left 0.03 inches in the gauge by the 7 A.M.
observation. Skies remained overcast, and very light rainfall
left only a trace so far. Visibility has been limited by fog,
being brought down to 20 miles by 10 A.M. The high so far today
is 70F, five degrees below the daily normal maximum of 75F, and
the low since midnight is 54F, three degrees below the daily
normal minimum of 57F.
Partial middle and high level clouds earlier this morning
drifted away to leave a mostly sunny sky by early afternoon.
The visibility has been very good near 70 miles all day
with some light distant haze partly obscuring the most distant
mountains. The air has dried from the rain on Thursday with
the dew point holding in the upper 40s today and the relative
humidity dropping to near 30%. The wind has picked up since
sunrise with a peak gust to 29 kts, 33 mph, from the SSW at
14:33 PM EST. The high so far today is 79F, four degrees above
the daily normal maximum of 75F, and the low since midnight
is 54F, three degrees below the daily normal minimum of 57F.
