DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY
SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 2020
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME
MILD AND CLOUDY WITH LIMITED VISIBILITY
FOLLOWING SOME LIGHT SNOW OVERNIGHT….
Today we observed overcast skies as low clouds continue to
dominate the region. Visibility was limited due to fog,
being 5 miles in the morning and 35 miles in the afternoon.
Wind was light throughout the day, coming in from the
northwest.
Despite abundant cloud cover and slight cold air advection
from the northwest, we are still seeing milder than normal
temperatures. This is due in part to an encroaching warm
air mass to our south. The high so far today is 38F, 3 degrees
above the normal high of 35F. The low since midnight is 31F,
14 degrees below the normal low of 17F.
