A DEPTH OF 16 INCHES OF SNOW ON THE GROUND BY 7:00 AM.
Sunday morning on Great Blue Hill began with nearly cloudless
skies and fresh powdery snow on the ground after last evening’s
quick and powerful coastal storm. With last month having made
the top ten snowiest January’s on record here at Blue Hill,
we are already at 27.9 inches of snow so far for the month
of February and 36.2 inches above normal so far in our
snowfall season.
Temperatures have stayed suppressed below freezing today
with a brisk wind varying between W-NW. Visibility has remained
clear and greater than 50 miles since sunrise with a thin veil
of cirrus/cirrostratus covering most of the sky by 1:00 PM.
