A VERY WARM AUGUST FINISHES AS SECOND WARMEST ON RECORD…
Temperatures remained below normal again today,
with a high so far of 75F, 2 degrees lower than
our normal high of 77F, and our lowest temperature
since midnight being 58F, 1 degree lower than our
normal low of 59F. Humidity decreased throughout
the day from 76% at our 7:00 A.M. observation to
58% at our 1:00 P.M. observation. Visibility
remained consistent at 40 miles with a lingering
distant haze.
With a 24-hour adjusted mean temperature of 73.4 degrees F,
August was the second warmest on record. The average maximum
tied for the eighth warmest, and the average maximum temperature
of 66.3 deg F was the warmest on record by more than a degree F.
