SEPTEMBER 2016 FINISHES AS SEVENTH WARMEST ON RECORD…
Temperatures have remained steady in the middle 50s since
Friday. Rain showers arrived at the observatory yesterday
afternoon and continued into mid-morning today with a brief
period of heavy rain shortly after the 7 AM EST observation.
Light rain tapered off to heavy drizzle by mid-morning with
the visibility holding below 1/4 mile all day. The total
rainfall through 7 AM EST was 0.93 inches. Another 0.29 inches
was measured in the six hours ending at 1 PM EST, bringing the
storm total up to 1.22 inches through that time. Gusty winds
from the NE have continued all day reaching a high of
32 mph (28 kts) NE at 11:10 AM EST.
