DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY

ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME

STRONG OCEAN STORM BRUSHES THE REGION WITH SOME SNOW
OVERNIGHT; CLEARING SKIES, GUSTY WINDS, AND EXCELLENT
VISIBILITY LEFT IN IT’S WAKE TODAY…

We had a taste of winter last night with a period of
snow and gusty northeast winds. 0.8″ of snow was measured
here on the summit, which melted down to 0.07″ of liquid.
The temperature dropped rapidly once precipitation started
last night, so much in fact it allowed the snow to dry out
some, thus a snow to water ratio slightly over 10:1.

Winds frequently gusted 35-45mph last night into early
this morning with a peak gust of 46 mph occurring at 9:37pm
out of the northeast.

Today skies cleared out in the wake of the ocean storm
with a gusty north to northwest wind continuing. The
dew point plummeted this morning down into the low
single digits. This has helped with clearing the air
significantly, as such visibility has been a perfect
90 miles all day!

The high so far today is 41F, this is 1 degree below
the normal high of 42F. The low since midnight is 26F,
2 degrees above the normal low of 24F.
