MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA
DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 2020
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME
MILD AND CLOUDY WITH LIMITED VISIBILITY
FOLLOWING SOME LIGHT SNOW OVERNIGHT….
Today we observed overcast skies as low clouds dominated the
region. Visibility was limited due to fog, being 2 miles in
the morning and 25 miles in the afternoon. Wind was light
throughout the day, being calm at the 10 A.M. observation.
Light snow overnight left trace amounts on the ground, all
of it falling early this morning.
With January passing us by, we continue to see an increase in
our rain and snowfall deficits. The January rainfall total is
1.46 inches, 2.89 inches below the average. This total appears
to be the 8th driest January on record. We are also lacking in
the snowfall department, amounting to only 4.2 inches, 12.4
inches below the normal. This total seems to set the record for
the 15th least snowiest January on record.
The high so far today is 39F, 5 degrees above the normal high
of 34F. The low since midnight is 30F, 13 degrees below the
normal low of 17F.
