A WONDERFUL START TO THE WEEKEND WITH COOLER, MORE SEASONAL TEMPS
AND BREEZY CONDITIONS ON GREAT BLUE HILL TODAY…

Today has been significantly cooler than yesterday, with very
breezy conditions and continued dry air. Skies have been mostly
clear with distant cumulus clouds this morning and began to
slowly fill in the sky as temperatures gradually increased early
this afternoon.

We started off a bit chilly this morning with temperatures in the
mid 40’s and by our last observation we just made it to 60F. The
strong NW flow and the dry air (with dew points in the low 40’s)
have kept the temperatures on the cooler side. Although breezy,
it’s been a gorgeous day for being outdoors.

Winds have steadily increased since this morning. We have had an
average speed of about 11mph with winds out of the NNW and NW. Our
peak gust so far has been about 30mph, which occurred just after
12:30pm.

Visibility has been at a phenomenal 70 miles throughout the day.
Low relative humidity, dew points, and clear skies have made it
a great day for scenic views of the New England fall scenery.

The maximum temperature so far today has been 60F, which is 2
degrees below the normal high of 62F. The minimum temperature
since midnight is 43F, which is 2 degrees below the normal low
of 45F.
