BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY
MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA

**SPECIAL REPORT**
TUESDAY, JANUARY 27, 2015

BLIZZARD OF 2015 BEGINS TO MOVE OFFSHORE,
SNOW TOTALS 29.7 INCHES BY 7:00 PM EST TONIGHT

Snow has become significantly lighter since 1:00 PM EST
this afternoon; however, an additional 4.2 inches of snow
has fallen between 1:00 PM EST and 7:00 PM EST this evening,
adding to our storm total which now sits at 29.7 inches.

As of 7:15 PM EST at the time of this report, light snow was
still falling at Great Blue Hill with snow bands still
lingering on radar. With our total of 29.7 inches, this moves
the current storm into the top 6 storms all time at Blue
Hill Observatory, with the potential to possibly surpass
several more historic storms before all is done. The next
snowfall measurement will be taken at 12:00 AM EST midnight
tonight to quantify midnight to midnight totals. It is quite
possible other records for calendar day snowfall have been
broken, along with records for snowstorms in January.

For the latest updates, check out our Facebook and Twitter pages,
and stay tuned to this afternoon’s daily discussion.
