CLOUDY AND STICKY ATOP GREAT BLUE HILL…
Skies have been fairly busy today with all cloud
layers visible. The high altitude overcast is thin
enough to allow for some dim sun. The considerable
cloudiness has capped our temperatures to the mid-70s
so far. We have yet to see these clouds precipitate any
liquid locally, however some distant virga was spotted
at the 1PM observation as a line of storms approach.
Visibility is very limited – at most 30 miles. An
increase in dew points to the mid-60s combined
with seasonal pollen is making for a very hazy sight.
The upcoming weather headline will be the heat and
humidity over the next 5 days. Upon inspection
of recent guidance, Blue Hill may record its first
heat wave of 2021…a good idea to ensure those
A/C window units are installed by this evening!
The high so far today is 76F, which is 4 degrees
above the normal high of 72F. The low since midnight
is 62F, which is 8 degrees above the daily normal
low of 54F.
