DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 10, 2015
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME
CLOUDS BUILD AHEAD OF OFFSHORE NOR’EASTER
An area of low pressure to our south this morning is
expected to deepen and strengthen as it passes to our
east. Scattered and broken layers of stratocumulus,
altocumulus and nearly overcast altostratus have characterized
our morning, with clear skies still visible to the NW-N.
Overnight, temperatures dipped to a minimum reading of 45F
at midnight, some 10 degrees above our daily normal minimum for
this date. Through Monday, temperatures have averaged 10.5
degrees above normal to start November.
By the 1:00 PM EST observation showers were building toward
the south shore of Massachusetts with overcast conditions
on top of Great Blue Hill. Thin fog and hazy conditions
were obscuring visibility to just 25 miles in most directions
with broken and overcast layers of altocumulus and altostratus
respectively. A maximum temperature of 53F had been recorded
around the 10:00 AM EST observation.
