BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY
MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA

DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY
SATURDAY, JANUARY 9, 2016
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME

DAMP AND COOL AHEAD OF A WET WARMUP

The temperature fell to only 37F at the summit this morning, well above
average.  The thick stratus cloud cover has made for a slow rise
in temperatures, with a high so far of 39F, which is also above average.
Winds have been light all day and very hazy conditions with light to very
light drizzle occurring since the 7 o’clock ob. A thin fog has formed in
advance of the heavy rain and near record warmth is forecast for later
on Sunday.

For Sunday, the current record high for Blue Hills is 54F set in 2000.
There is a good chance this record will fall with the pending warm weather.
There will also be very heavy rain fall with an associated low pressure system
And it is possible that we will come close to the 2.16 Inches of Precipitation
Set back in 1935.
