MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA
DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY
SATURDAY, JANUARY 11, 2020
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME
RECORD BREAKING WARMTH ATOP GREAT BLUE HILL…
The main story here today is the wind and temperatures.
A busy southwest wind is advecting unseasonably mild air
into the region. The high so far today is 64F which easily
breaks the old record of 59 degrees set back in 1975!
It appears the warmth may not be short lived and we
could be looking at another record high tomorrow which
currently stands at 60F from 2018! The max gust so far
is 47 MPH out of the SSW.
Visibility has been limited due to distant fog. Several splashes
of sun have been found though throughout the day amidst a chaotic sky.
The high temperature so far today is 64F, which is 30 degrees above
the daily normal maximum of 34F. The low since midnight
is 46F, which is 29 degrees above the normal low of 17F.
