BLUE HILL METEOROLOGICAL OBSERVATORY
MILTON, MASSACHUSETTS
ELEVATION 635 FEET, 10 MILES SSW OF BOSTON, MA

SUNDAY, JUNE 28, 2020
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME

HAZY WITH SIGNIFICANT THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY
IN THE AFTERNOON HOURS….

We observed a normal, hazy summer day until
around noontime where a massive thunderstorm
popped up to the northwest. It moved slowly
over the Boston area, where multiple lightning
strikes were seen. Weather conditions became
more volatile as the day went on, with storms
moving from west to east. The observatory has
experienced near an inch of rainfall between
2 P.M. and 3 P.M, eastern time. This should
put a significant damper on the monthly
rainfall deficit!

The high so far today is 84 degrees, this is 5
degrees above the daily normal high of 79F. The
low since midnight is 62F, which is a degree
above the daily normal low of 61F.
