DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY
SUNDAY, JULY 29, 2018
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME

COOLER, DRIER AIR AND IMPROVED VISIBILITY

Today’s temperatures have not been as warm as they were in the past
few days. The minimum temperature this morning was 67F, which is
the coolest it has been since last Sunday. However, this minimum
is still 4F above the normal minimum temperature for this time of
year of 63F. The maximum reached so far today has been only 80F,
compared to 86F reached by this time yesterday. Dew points have
also been lower, staying in the low 60s this afternoon making for
much more pleasant conditions. Winds have also stayed light.
Yesterday afternoon around 4:30 P.M. EST, winds began to pick up
out of the south and a peak gust of 28 MPH was measured. So far
today, the peak gust was only 15 MPH out of the WNW at 10:33 A.M.
Today’s drier conditions also allowed for much better visibility.
By the 1:00 P.M. observation, visibility for most of the area was
at 80 miles.
