Join us for New England Aquarium Day at BHO
Sunday, October 16 from 10 to 4 Blue Hill Observatory will be hosting New England Aquarium Day featuring presentations on Climate Study and Climate Impacts – Learn how the Blue Hill Meteorological Observatory has the longest running homogeneous weather data collection in all of the USA. See charts and graphs created from that weather data and how that information can be used to study the climate. Enjoy a display from the New England Aquarium which will have live animals and educators explaining the impact of climate change on animal habitat, behavior, and the changes going on due to climate change.
Enjoy a 50% Discount admission to tour the weather Observatory for members of the New England Aquarium. There will also be special deals for membership in both the Blue Hill Observatory and New England Aquarium.
Admission to the Aquarium presentation and Observatory Lectures is free for all ages.
Lecture schedule for the New England Aquarium Day at the Observatory is:
- Measuring the Weather on Great Blue Hill 1885 until now- 10:30.
- Climate Study at Blue Hill Observatory- 11:30
- Citizen Science – Using Picture Post for Climate monitoring- 12:30.

NOTE: The Observatory is open 10 to 4 every weekend including Monday Holidays and 7 days by appointment 8:30 to 5:30. General tours of the Observatory (about 20 minutes) are $4.00 adults, $2.00 age 5-17 and In-depth tours (about 50 minutes) are $8.00 adults, $5.00 ages 5-17 or for seniors, military, student with ID, members of KONE, AKA, AMC, MA Audubon, FBH, WERS, WGBH.
