DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY
THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 28, 2019
ALL TIMES ARE IN EASTERN STANDARD TIME

HAPPY THANKSGIVING FROM THE BLUE HILL OBSERVATORY…

A cold front passed through the region last night bringing
with it showers and even a rumble of thunder. This is the
second time this week that thunder has been recorded here at
Blue Hill, the first occurring on Sunday afternoon. Rainfall
totaled 0.30″ for the 24 hours ending at 7 A.M.

Today we find that the mild temperatures of the last few days
have now departed. Ushering in this cooler air, we have gusty
northwest winds. Gusts of 35-40mph have been common late this
morning into early this afternoon.

Occasional rain showers have also been occurring, mixing with
snow at times. Additional precipitation for the 6 hours ending
at 1 P.M. is 0.01″ with a trace of snow.

The high for today occurred back at midnight when it was 48F,
which is 3 degrees above the daily normal maximum of 45F. The
low so far today 38F, which is 8 degrees above the normal
minimum of 30F.
