DAILY DISCUSSION AND CLIMATE SUMMARY

PARTLY CLOUDY THIS MORNING BECOMING OVERCAST
WITH LIGHT RAIN IN THE AFTERNOON HOURS….

Today we observed skies becoming gradually cloudier,
with winds increasing as the day went on. Wind gusts
exceeded 10 mph after noontime, with some light rain
falling around 2:30 P.M. Visibility was limited by a
distant haze, but reached 60 miles at the 10 P.M.
observation. Despite the cloudy conditions, the
southerly breeze brought the temperature up to
75F, a degree below the daily normal of 76F. The
low since midnight is 57F, 2 degrees below the
daily normal minimum of 59F.

We end off the month of August 2019 with slightly
warmer than normal temperatures, and a low monthly
rain total. Rainfall received last month was only
1.83 inches, 2.21 inches lower than the monthly
average of 4.03 inches.
